About this work

Helmut Newton, In a garden near Rome, 1977

Original Hand Signed (pencil) by Helmut Newton lower right cornerPhoto from the special collection series, almost 50 years old! This lot is part of Helmut Newton's "Special Collection 24 Photo Lithos" first edition published by Congreve Publishing Co. Inc.: New York: 1979. One of the world's most celebrated fashion and portrait photographers, A beautifully produced publication reproducing, through quality photo lithographs, 24 of Helmut Newton's finest images from his early career. The images have been chosen by Newton personally and reflect his best work from the 1970s. Each image captures the powerful, sexual and modern woman, the leitmotif of Newton's work.. Newton's work frequently appeared in Vogue and other publications. Controversial scenarios, bold lighting and striking compositions came to form his signature look. This collection is a classic example of his provocative, erotically charged black-and-white photos.

Note: Helmut Newton, Special Collection, 24 Photo Lithos, first edition 1979 was printed as limited run and un-signed, Newton has hand signed a small limited amount of this Portfolio for the publisher.
